El Roi - The God Who Sees

It is important for us as followers of Jesus, children of God, that we know some basic truths about God in order to foster greater intimacy. We need to know that we are seen and heard. God is a God who sees us and hears us. 

One of the things that will help us to move past things that hinder us from walking closer with God is us really getting to know him further. Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus that they would know God better. He prayed; “ 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”

Today’s lesson is intended to help us to see God and one of his great attributes. The God who sees and hears. 

We will see this illustrated in a story we have read in our reading the Bible in a year plan. We will be in Genesis 16 and reading the story of Hagar.
