Flourishing With Jesus

Jesus mission was more than the forgiveness of sins. It is full restoration and reconciliation. He did not come so that we would simply refrain from sinning, but to learn how to truly live. After baptism we have the Holy Spirit and he begins the work of sanctification. His work in us to accomplish what Jesus meant when he said that we would have life more abundantly. We are not talking superficial things like prosperity, it is so much more than that. It is true Shalom, a fullness of peace and blessing, true freedom not just from sin but healing from the consequences of sin. Jesus restores hope in what life can be. He restores security and takes away our fears. In Him we find not just purpose, we also find our true selves, our identity as sons and daughters of God. The only caveat, we have to be willing to take the journey and trust the shepherd.

***I made an error in referencing the woman who suffered from bleeding. I referred to Mark 12, it is actually Mark 5. (she bled and suffered for 12 years) You can also find the story in Matthew 9 and Luke 8.
