Be With God

One Story, One Desire

As we all read the Bible chronologically this year, we see the unfolding of a wonderful story. A story told to us by the prophets who taught us about God and his people. We learn God’s name and his nature.

The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

We read of his people and their faith, flaws and failings and we see God’s nature revealed throughout. Finally we read about Jesus and He shows us the Father, more than just telling us about Him, Jesus reveals us to him by being like Him. And so points us to how we are to relate to him and one another in relationship.

The Bible is not primarily the story of human effort—it is the story of divine pursuit.

God longs to be known, not merely acknowledged.

And He longs for His children to abide, not simply believe.
