Two Crowds, One Crossroad

Luke tells us that Jesus was entering a town called Nain.

As He approached the gate, two processions collided.

One was a funeral procession:

A widow

Her only son

A community walking with her in grief

Silence, sorrow, finality

The other was a different kind of procession:

Jesus

His disciples

A growing crowd

Hope, light, healing

At the city gate—life and death met.

And what happened at that gate is a picture of the gospel.
